In the Beginning
I never thought that I would be sitting at my desk creating a blog, but here I am. Wow. I have mixed feelings about this! The thought of my thoughts and words being out on the world wide web is a little scary, but here we go! This semester, I have chosen a topic of research that I have had some interest in for some time. Being a kindergarten teacher, one of the main things I teach, along with reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, is social skills. Appropriate social skills are so important to have and something that kids can certainly struggle with. I also feel that appropriate social skills is something that we are starting to see less and less of in our society. My husband sees it in his job every day. He tells me horror stories of young adults joining his team at his job and them lacking so many important social skills with clients, and then he has to clean up the "mess".
